Reflective post (Romeo and Juliet)

Romeo and Juliet is a remarkable story, and it is one of my favorites. Although this love story is tremendously exaggerated and surreal to me, it's still touching. I have the DVD of this play, and I've watched it over 10 times. This book reminds me the songs, the atmosphere, and the dramatic tension in the play. The scene of Juliet standing on the balcony, singing to Romeo with great emotion still vividly appears in my mind. The two families’ hatred towards each other reflects the difficult relationships between two families in the real world that happens sometimes. Furthermore, the ending, which both of them suicide, gives us a deeper idea and makes us think: is this a happy ending? Does it has to be in this way? Is it worth it?

Shakespeare’s work illustrates the common love situation happened around us. Using lots of dramatic ironies, he shows the young teenagers’ impatience, and finally, unpleasant ending. He simply brings an old question: What is love?, a deep, debatable question.
